[   WESTWIND SUPPORTS NORTHWESTERN MICHIGAN COLLEGE CONSTRUCTION AND TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMS WITH DONATION OF TRUCK AND TRAILER   ]

Westwind held a transfer of title and ownership ceremony to donate a ‘gently used’ 2012 Chevrolet extended cab pick-up truck and 14-foot double axle trailer to the Northwestern Michigan College Construction and Renewable Energy Technology programs on June 8, in the parking lot at the NMC Aero Park Laboratories at the Aero Park Campus located at 2600 Aero Park Drive. Supporters of NMC and the public were in attendance for the special event.

The gift will supply the NMC Construction and Technology programs with a dedicated commercial vehicle and trailer to support students at a variety of construction and technology training sites throughout the Grand Traverse region. The truck and trailer will be used to support student projects by delivering construction material, supplies and tools to various sites. It will also be used to transport students to and from project sites.

“We’re pleased to donate this essential resource to NMC to help foster the college’s construction trade program,” stated Greg Oleszczuk, Westwind founder and CEO. “It’s our desire to help support the growth and continued success of the program as well as the communities throughout the Grand Traverse region.”

In 2016, Westwind formed a partnership with the NMC Aviation and the Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) programs that provides valuable student training opportunities and assists Westwind projects in the Grand Traverse region. The UAS technology, commonly referred to as ‘drone’ fly-over service is being used to document and record Westwind construction progress of two major multi-family projects underway in the Grand Traverse region; Ridge45, located at 2301 LaFranier Road, and Trailside45, located at 630 South Garfield Avenue.
